Olive Green Irish Sea Glass Pendant

A little piece of the beach to call your own. This beautiful natural olive green sea glass has been wrapped in silver to create a unique necklace.

Found along the shores of Carlingford Lough, at the foot of the Mourne mountains, this natural piece of sea glass has a gorgeous frosted olive green finish. It is set in pure .999 fine silver and hangs from a .925 sterling silver belcher chain. Fine silver is slow to tarnish due to its high purity and therefore will look new for longer.

The back of this pendant has been left open to show off the beauty of the sea glass on both sides; this makes the necklace reversible!

Sea glass is created by traveling through the ocean for years and years; the waves breaking down the glass and smoothing it out while adding a frosty finish to the surface. Who knows how long any individual piece of glass has been in the water, where it originated from, or how many various shores it has washed up on before eventually being found. Sea glass appeals not only to the beach lovers but to the imaginative and those who love to travel. Wearing it can invoke memories of trips to the seaside as well as sparking the imagination & dreaming up new places to wander.

This sea glass is still in the natural state in which it was found; the only thing I have done to it prior to setting is a gentle clean.
