About

liloak

'liloak' was created in, and inspired by, Rostrevor Co. Down: its mountains, forests and shoreline. Rostrevor holds a very special place in my heart - I feel so lucky to have grown up here, and now to be raising my own family here.

The name 'liloak' comes from the saying "mighty oaks from little acorns grow" - a reminder of hidden strength and potential.

Every piece of liloak jewellery is designed and made by me, Sheila, in my makeshift home studio. I came to metalsmithing after enrolling in a night class and fell in love with it. I've always loved jewellery and the art of crafting something by hand. I use traditional tools and techniques as I feel it's important to keep old traditions alive. I prefer to work slowly and intentionally, making sure each piece is finished to a quality that will enable it to last a lifetime.

I'm happiest outdoors, surrounded by nature. I love being immersed in the wildness of the mountains or the stillness of the forest or combing the shores looking for treasures that the latest tide has washed up.

I try to make pieces that feel true to me and hopefully will hold special meaning to those who wear them.
